Santa’s Success!

Thank you everyone who came out to see Santa and make a donation to Campus Cats! With your help the Animal Wellness Center of Athens successfully raised over $500 dollars for this local rescue group.

With this money, stray or feral cats will be able to be spayed / neutered, vaccinated, and given food and shelter. Local rescue groups like these help to keep the stray cat population on UGA’s campus and the surrounding area from growing. They also help to keep the existing population healthy and disease free. This means a safer healthier environment for everyone.

In addition Campus Cats helps find homes for adoptable kittens and cats that have been left be hind when students move on. Finding a forever home for these animals is important and so is bringing attention to the issue of animal / pet abandonment.  For more information about Campus Cats and how to help click here.

We’d also like to thank all of our reps who donated prizes and treats! If your dog liked the cookies from Santa they were Ideal Balance Soft Baked Naturals Duck and Pumpkin.

Additionally, we’d like to say a huge thank you to Ashley Woods, our volunteer photographer two years in a row! Without her we wouldn’t have been able to put on this event. It takes a lot of patience and treat waving to work with wiggly subjects, but Ashley manages to capture them perfectly! If you like her work and are interested in having a more personalized pet portrait done contact her at: for more information.

Last but not least we’d also like to thank Rodas photography for once again donating their photobooth! Not only was it tons of fun, but it allows all those Santa phobic fur children to have their picture taken as well! If you’d like to rent a photo booth for your next event you can contact Rodas Photography at
